After a very delicious and fun dinner at my parents' house last night, we came home (the kids and I because Carlo's gone) ready for bed (my parents can party). :) I sat down at the table to check my ipod for any emails (someday I just might get one) and glanced over to the floor by the oven to see a chubby mouse walk (briskly, but it was a walk) over to under the sink area. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a MOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I immediately got on the phone to see if some neighbor friends had any mouse traps. I called Jen. Nope, no mice or mousetraps there. I also called Cami and Kay. No. They don't have mice. I was feeling pretty special to live in the house of choice for these critters. I do have a way with animals. Well, the ox was in the mire and I announced to the kids that I was going to Wal-mart to buy some traps. Christian's response was, "So you're going shopping on Sunday to buy something to murder with?" "Yup!" I was. There was no way I would be sleeping with a mouse running around the house! I bought 3 double packs of traps...the inhumane kind (I prefer them). The lady at the self checkout line informed me that others had been in recently to buy mouse traps. Hopefully they were Sabbath day observers also. :) We carefully baited all 6 with peanut butter and to bed we went. I was so thankful to get rid of the beast. I woke up anxious to find the lucky trap...but to no avail!!! GREAT!!!!!! It's still lurking around! I had a mouse conversation with Tera, Jackie, Maria and others recently and can't remember what they said about how to kill them. Please tell me if you know.
I'll post another one when I get rid of it!
As for tonight, Christian may have to put us all to bed. :)

My parents have had pretty good luck with the "humane" kind (but then my dad takes a shovel to them). And my sister is an expert. They had an infestation of mice when they lived with her in-laws. She said they would go to bed and they could hear them scurrying through the walls. I'll ask her what finally worked. Good luck, and I'm so, so sorry. I totally would have gone to Walmart on a Sunday to kill a mouse!
We always use the poison bars- we have a friend who is an exterminator. We put them behind the fridge, oven, against the pantry wall, etc. It seems to work for us. But then you have to hope that the mouse dies in a place where you can get it to dispose of it or better yet- go outside and die. Yuck. I hate mice. It's amazin how small harmless creatures can make me freak out so bad. Good luck!
Do you want to borrow my cat for the night? She's left me a few sacrafices on my front porch. It's nice not to worry about them.
I totally feel for you. You can stay with me if you need :)
I hope the bacon works!! Let us know!
